Mulranny Sighthounds

Present

'Hector'

Ghiltan Honesty of Mulranny

Sire: Wild West Von Der Oelmuhle (IMP DEU)

Dam: Ghiltan Larch

Hector is our first foray into the world of deerhounds. We got him at 6 months old and after a year he is finally maturing into a nice boy. He is still a puppy in his head and has turned my garden into a bomb site and race track. The inside of my house is looking very much like the outside - full of mud! Roll on summer!!

This is a picture of his mum - Ghiltan Larch the day we collected him. Its not a particularly brilliant picture, but the only one I have at the moment.......

Hector went to Crufts on 9th March. He wasn't placed in his class but winner of his class went on the get the Dog CC. Hector had a brilliant time and was a little excited at all the other deerhounds and tried to kiss the judge. At least he's happy! He spent a short time on the Greyhound Rescue West of England stand whilst I did a spot of shopping, and I think he attracted a small amount of attention with his cute looks. They could have rehomed him several times too......

We went to the Deerhound Club Show on Saturday 19th April and Hector was brilliant. He stood still for the longest he has done so far and moved nice and steady. He was entered in 3 classes which was a lot to ask of him and he was so well behaved until the last class when he spotted some whippets and of course wanted to say hello to them. He is an honorary whippet after all! He was placed in each of his classes:

Yearling Dog - VHC - 11 entries; Special Beginners, Novice - 2nd - 6 entries; Undergraduate - VHC - 15 entries

So, a very successful day and many thanks to the Judge, Mr K Aird.
